Michelle Wiggins

Michelle is a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale where she received her Bachelors in Theater with a focus in Technical Theater. She is a professional stage manager, but has also worked some years as a carpenter, costume stitcher, prop artist, and theater electrician. Work has taken her to different places, including theaters in Illinois, Minnesota, and New Hampshire.

Michelle grew up in a Christian family and, though faith in God has always been part of her life, the church has not. After moving and not finding a church to fit into, Michelle lost that section of her life. Later deciding that she needed to grow her faith, she restarted her search for a church and not only found a church but a church family to join.

Michelle became a member of First Baptist Church in February of 2015. Since then, she absolutely loves volunteering her time to serve the Lord at FBC. You can find her working on visuals or on the sound board on Sundays as well as having fun at Logos on Wednesdays! The scripture 1 Peter 4:10 has always rang strong in Michelle’s life, and she appreciates the many opportunities given by FBC to use her gifts and talents to glorify the Lord.

FAQs

What's one of your favorite Scriptures or Bible stories and why?

It is a popular one, but it would have to be John 3:16 for me. It was the very first verse I memorized as a child, and it sums up my beliefs and why I am a Christian.

Describe your "perfect" day.

My perfect day would be sunny-filled with grilled food, shared with friends and family, all while enjoying God’s beauty in nature. Another perfect day would be one that is amazingly productive where I get everything that is on my to-do list done – then cuddle with my cat.

What are your top three favorite books or movies?

I am a big movie fan so limiting it down to my top three was extremely difficult! My favorite movies are Young Frankenstein, A League of Their Own and Avengers (as I am a big comic book fan)!

What's your favorite family tradition?

My family and I always wake up early on Thanksgiving to cook together. Then after the meal, while we are stuffed and trying to digest, we watch A Muppet Christmas Carol.

If you could have dinner with anyone (past, present, or future), who would it be and why?

Though I would love to have dinner with the very handsome and talented actor, Tom Hiddleston, when given the opportunity my answer will always be my grandmother. Through her encouragement, support and inspiration, she not only helped my career choice, but she shaped the person I turned out to be. I would love another opportunity to tell her how grateful I am for her.
