Opportunity to Help!

Hello, FBC family!
As you may know, our local shelters are full due to the weather and reduced capacity as part of COVID safety measures. PATH has partnered with local churches (including FBC) and agencies to house people who would otherwise be stuck outdoors in hotel rooms. FBC also volunteered to provide a cold lunch once a week for four weeks to 20 guests. On Thursday, February 11th, we packed sandwiches, raw veggies with dip, apples, chips, muffins, cookies, juice, and water, which were picked up by PATH and delivered to their clients who are staying in hotels.

This Thursday, our menu is garden salads topped with cold chicken, along with snacks, fruit, breakfast items, and juice. Some of the food has already been provided; Melissa Larson has created an online sign-up for the other items and volunteers we need. Click the link if you would like to provide ingredients, help with food prep before Thursday, or help pack meals. Those packing meals will meet at church at 9:30 a.m. Thursday. If you have questions, please contact Gabrielle Hastings.

(please note that there was a hiccup in the number of volunteer slots available – email the church office at info@fbcblm.org to volunteer this week.)
