LOGOS Ministry

Due to Server Crash, this LOGOS website has lost all of its information,  going back to Fall 2020. That is incredibly outdated with the LOGOS of today so this site will be under maintenance to get back to updated information. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Acts 2:42

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

The LOGOS Ministry at FBC is a weekly intergenerational experience for ages 3 through 18 that creates an arena where all ages, together, can learn about, experience, and practice the art of Christian relationships, which, we believe, is critical for developing life-long disciples. The One rule of LOGOS is “Everyone is a child of God, deserving of love and respect.” LOGOS teaches how God will use us to change the world!

LOGOS at FBC

LOGOS has been a part of FBC’s ministry for 25 years! Our long-standing Biblically-based mid-week program for children ages 3 through senior high is as much fun for them as it is for the adult participants!

LOGOS meets weekly on Wednesdays from 4:15-7:30pm with children arriving anytime between 4-4:15pm for a snack. In that time, they will have four different sessions where they will have Bible Study, Worship Skills, Recreation and Family Time with a meal!

At this time our LOGOS ministry will be mask-optional and will be following the guidelines set by the FBC Board  who are following IDPH and CDC guidelines. During this time of Covid, LOGOS will be practicing contact tracing and will contact parents and leaders if someone is positive with Covid to stop the spread.

A Four-Part Weekly Ministry

There are four parts to the LOGOS Weekly Ministry Model:

1. Bible Study – Our youth study the Bible using our LOGOS curriculum to grow in Christ-centered living. Through reenactments, creating murals, trivia games and more, we generate greater biblical understanding and literacy.

2. Worship Skills –We use puppetry, singing, bell choir, art , Lego stop motion, technology and so much more at LOGOS to teach and practice ways to Worship. We share our worship skills with our LOGOS family, church family and community!

3. Recreation Play – A fun time where we build relationships together while playing games, creating fun crafts, and doing missions together! We play kickball, make slime, package food for Food programs and so much more!

4. Family Time – Each week, “table families” of various ages eat dinner together through the program year. Food is safely prepared, and we will be following CDC and IDPH guidelines for health and safety while having fun together with family time activities and themes!

The commitment of adult LOGOS leaders makes the LOGOS Ministry happen. Please contact Director Michelle Wigginsto discuss service and leadership opportunities. Leaders are called according to their interests and gifts by the LOGOS leadership team.
