Our commitment to our denomination’s outreach has been personal and financial. We have been recognized annually as one of the top supporters for the four quarterly special offerings (America for Christ, One Great Hour of Sharing, World Mission and Retired Missionaries and Ministers). Our gifts to United Mission Basics are used by ABC-USA for administrative as well as regional and local support; various resources for clergy and lay staff; and various mission leaders.
American Baptist Churches USA reaches out prophetically and missionally through two unique entities with shared values. The first is American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS), formerly National Ministries. The second is American Baptist International Ministries (IM).
FBC supports both ABHMS and IM financially, recognizing that, through shared work with thousands of other churches, much can be – and is – being accomplished.
American Baptist Home Mission Societies answers God’s call to live out Christian faith and transform individuals, congregations, and communities through developing Christ-centered leaders, networks, and programs committed to witness and evangelism, social justice, discipleship, and mission work across the United States and Puerto Rico.
Ministries include (but are not limited to):
American Baptist International Ministries began its pioneer mission work in 1814 in Myanmar (Burma) and today works in Asia, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas, serving more than 1,800 long-term and short-term missionaries in more than 70 countries. Its central mission is to help people come to faith in Jesus, grow in their relationships with God, and change their worlds through the power of the Spirit.

ABHMS and IM work beyond the local church, but are supported by the local church. As our mission dollars are committed to these two entities, we partner with God’s Spirit here and around the globe. The church is truly larger than we might think.
FBC currently offers sustainable support for two IM servants. Rev. Jon and Amanda Good in Hungary and Rev. Katie and Taku Longkumer in India. FBC along with ABW has also offered financial support to global servants in Costa Rico, Porta Rico, and Lebanon. To learn more about their ministries, click the links to their IM profiles.
To partner in these ministries, please consider our online giving option as a means of support for them or any of our other missions.
